We empower people in the Kibera slum community |
At the Kibera Children Center we are working directly with communities in slums to create and promote positive change within those communities. We are supporting children and adults in their various stages of life, thus creating a conducive environment for change, transformation, and growth. Our ultimate goal is to have as many children and adults access an education and the skills needed for the community to thrive. |

Since 2015 we have been supporting children with their primary school education. The number of pupils has been on a steady rise ever since, with the number in 2019 at 100 children. This number is expected to rise with more publicity and improvement of our services to the community. The project has seen more than 20 pupils successfully sit their National examinations and proceed to the next phase of high school education. In addition, youth and women within the community have benefited from our efforts to support self-help groups that has seen more people engage in small businesses that support their families. A considerable number of youth have been mentored and involved in volunteer activities such as teaching at our Visionary school of Kibera and participating in environmental conservation. |
