Mission of the organization Girls Empowerment Sierra Leone (GESL) is a feminist-based organization in Sierra Leone that nurtures and enhances the leadership skills of young girls to become effective advocates and social change agents in their communities. With a keen interest to support sustainable development at the community and national level, GESL offers year long comprehensive training programs to participants. Through our core programs that emphasize personal and leadership growth, community service, health and sexual reproductive rights, innovation and creativity. |

Social impact Statement Our leadership program is our flagship program for GESL. GESL has successfully impacted the lives of over 300 girls since 2012. 90% of GESL Girls have reported that their public speaking skills have improved; 90% of GESL Girls' leadership skills had improved; 95% of our girls have been equipped with an understanding of activism and thus feel more ready to tackle issues in their communities. |
