Mission of the organization SOGPA’s mission is establishing and implementing the following programmes to reach its vision. • Reforestation Programmes • Prevention of deforestation Programmes • Mitigation of climate change problems • Climate change Education Programmes • Increase self-sufficiency through introducing sustainable food security and livelihoods improvement initiatives. • Building city friendly climate programmes • Enhancing the awareness quality and capacity of teachers, teaching/learning environment and institutional structures. • Encouraging usage of biodegradable items • Advocating for the ban of plastic baggage uses. • Increase public environmental awareness and advocacy through media usage, trainings, meetings, etc. • Build the capacity of local CBOs, women groups, youth groups in better management practices, service delivery etc. |

Social impact Statement Somali Green Peace Association now advocates for climate change problem solutions and School greening programms in Somalia. It was established August 2019. Till now we have carried out nine major activities that could contribute climate change solutions. These activities are 1. School planting trees 2. School Education on climate change problems 3. Planting trees in Somali National University 4. Field training on the importance of trees in carbon reduction 5. Celebration of world peace day with major theme been give peace to the environment. 6. Deforestation awareness training in Mogadishu One Stop Youth Centre 7. Planting trees in Mogadishu One Stop youth Center. 8. Training on plant protection in deynile school. 9. Trainin on introduction to Climate Change |
