Mission of the organization J-GEN is a non-profit association which promotes female entrepreneurship of young Senegalese women and girls and works for the elimination of gender-based violence in Sénégal. J-GEN is also running an online campaign called PASTOUCHSN to eliminate excision or female genital mutilation. |

Social impact Statement Since 2016, 30 youth organizations have been trained by JGEN on gender-based violence as part of the fight against violence against women and girls in Senegal and for the criminalization of rape in Senegal. In a J-GEN programme to support entrepreneurship of young Senegalese women, 30 young women entrepreneurs have obtained support from the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training. More than 100,000 parents have been made aware of the negative effects of excision (female genital mutilation) and a group of 4,000 young people has been created to change behaviour and obtain a new generation without excision. |
