Mission of the organization
Women Environment and Youth Development Initiative (WOYODEV) is a non governmental, non sectoral organization formed to help in the all round development of Women and Youth which constitutes a larger part of the population of the world. The creation of the organisation was informed out of the passion and general concern about the dwindling reality of health care delivery, gender parity, women and youth economic empowerment in Nigeria.

WOYODEV particularly focuses on awareness creation and advocacy for gender equality, promotion of children and women’s rights, Elimination of harmful traditional practices, Girl’s education and enrolment in schools, women empowerment, women inclusion in Governance and Decision Making Processes. care & support for PLWHA, OVC and Health related issues such as SRHR, Immunization, Maternal and Child Health, Access to Nutrition, Water sanitation and Disaster Risk Reduction.

WOYODEV, an organization in Special Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC, is registered with the Federal Government of Nigeria and Kwara State Ministries of Women Affairs, Youth and Social Development. WOYODEV registration number with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is CAC/IT/NO 67507 as Women Environment and Youth Development and the Kwara State Government with registration no: KSV/ MWSC/ 17249/ 08

As an organisation, we adopt various strategies to inform, empower and mobilize the entire populace with particular attention to the rural areas which are marginalized by the society. Our Organization is really concerned about the wheel that drives the social activities of young people especially girls towards developmental issues in the country. The Organization adopts the participatory, development and evaluation approaches in achieving its goals.

WOYODEV corporate headquarters is located at No. 5, Redcross road, off Offa road, GRA, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria with field offices across the country.

Our Goal: To reach the less privileged with succour while engaging communities actively in finding solutions to their problems
Our Vision: We envision Good Health, Zero level of Ignorance, Health Friendly Decisions and Hazard Free Environment for the betterment of women and youth and the community at large.
Our mission: A non-governmental, non-sectoral organization that is committed to identify with the average Nigerian Women and Youth, Promote, Enlighten and Enhance all-round Comfort so as to bring smiles to their faces.
Aim: To provide for women and youth a voice, identify with their hopes and aspirations in view to develop and promote their relevance and sense of belonging in the development and stability of the communities, environment and the nation.
Objectives:
- Carry out studies of various problems confronting women and youth and finding ways of alleviating them.
- Promotion and enlightment on the elimination of harmful traditional practices that affect female generally such as early marriage, circumcision e.t.c.
- Organizing programmes aimed at improving and promoting the ending of gender based discrimination and rights/dignity of women and female youth.
- To enhance women and youth involvement and inclusion in decision making processes, civic right, peace building and sustainable development.
Strategies: Advocacy, Community mobilization, Activism, Peer education, Trainings, Capacity building, Sensitization/ workshops/ seminars and conferences, Networking, Information dissemination via IEC Materials e.g. Handbills, Posters, Banners
